HUMAN MADE: introducing the brand

HUMAN MADE is a lifestyle brand from Tokyo that was launched in 2010 by NIGO, a Japanese fashion designer and DJ, alongside graphic designer Sk8thing. In keeping with the brand's motto 'the future is in the past', NIGO creates garments that blend vintage styles with the bright and playful spirit of Tokyo street culture to give them that modern feel. Over the years, HUMAN MADE has gained popularity with the likes of Pharrell Williams, collaborating together in 'Human Race x HUMAN MADE' collection, and Virgil Abloh, with whom he created the Louis Vuitton pre-fall collection, 'Louis Made'. Nowadays, the brand has become renowned for its bold and distinctive jackets, sweatshirts, tees and pants, which you can now find at HUMAN MADE SVD USA!

NIGO founded HUMAN MADE to create novelties he wasn't able to do with A Bathing Ape (BAPE), the streetwear brand that put him on the map. With its garments, accessories and homeware, HUMAN MADE combines exquisite detail with cultural references, most notably from the pre-60s for the added touch of nostalgia that is dear to the designer. Meanwhile, his accessories have a 1950s and 1960s influence and play with mature tones and vintage styles. NIGO's clothes represent what he's always wanted to wear, along with personal touches like the iconic ‘Curry Up' reference to his Tokyo boutique restaurant.
